Management Team
Thomas V. Cunningham, Founder, Chairman & CEO
The same entrepreneurial spirit you see in our clients and franchise owners you can also see in Tom Cunningham, TruePresence’s founder and Chief Executive Officer.
Tom’s business story started in 1995, when he founded TruePresence’s parent company, Alabanza, one of the nation’s largest automated hosting providers. Just four years later, Tom started BulkRegister, which quickly grew to become the world’s fifth-largest web domain registry. The trailblazing success of both Alabanza and BulkRegister enabled Tom to launch TruePresence in 2005.
Today, Tom is an acknowledged industry expert in digital multimedia and web hosting technologies, and was named Ernst & Young’s Regional Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002.
Michael Teitelbaum, President
Michael Teitelbaum knows a thing or two about helping businesses grow online. His past client roster speaks for itself: AMF Bowling, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Maryland State Lottery, US Airways, and Washington DC Tourism, just to name a few. Michael guided these businesses—and many more—to success as President of leading interactive agency Eisner Interactive, a title he held before arriving at TruePresence.
In 1995, Michael co-founded Emagination, a leading provider of web services on the eastern seaboard. He also served as President of Money Mailer of Mid-Atlantic, Inc.—one of the nation’s most successful direct mail advertising corporations—for sixteen years.
All that work would wear most people out. Not Michael. When he’s not spending time with his wife and three sons, you can probably find him on the golf course, the ski slopes, and occasionally even the stage. Be sure to catch his classic rock band, Mister Wilson, in concert next time you’re in town.
Andrew Fleischer, Chief Financial Officer
Andy Fleischer has over fifteen years experience in accounting, finance, and systems with high tech companies, including Honeywell Technology Solutions, Inc. As Honeywell’s financial manager, Andy was involved in business strategy formulation, process improvement, financial systems implementation, financial reporting, and auditing. Andy also spent seven years in public accounting with Walpert, Smullian & Blumenthal, P.A., and Clifton, Gunderson & Company, performing audit, tax, and consulting services.
Andy is a Certified Public Accountant, and received his Masters in Business Administration from the The Johns Hopkins University.
Albert ("Cal") Calvin, Chief Technology Officer
Albert “Cal” Calvin is TruePresence’s proverbial “man behind the curtain,” enhancing and managing the TruePresence technological infrastructure and overseeing technical implementations with our customers.
Cal’s experience in hardware, Internet security, and technology is impressive. Prior to joining TruePresence, Cal was Manager of Network Operations at CyberCash, Inc., and Manager of Operations at Phone Base Systems, Inc. Cal also served as a Cryptographic Communications Technician with the U.S. Air Force, where he was chosen for special duty to provide secure communications for offices within the Department of Defense, the Department of Armed Forces, and other agencies.
Gayle Becker, Vice President of Franchise Development
For Gayle Becker, helping someone make a life-changing decision—like opening a TruePresence franchise—is a brilliant moment. As Vice President of Franchise Development, Gayle guides budding entrepreneurs through the franchise application and qualification process to make sure they’ve found the perfect fit for their personal and professional goals.
Gayle also brings two decades of experience as an advertising and online sales/marketing executive to the TruePresence team. Most recently, Gayle worked as a top producer with a leading Mid-Atlantic web design, development, and marketing firm, helping a variety of businesses develop and implement their web strategies.
Gayle finds plenty of brilliant moments outside the office, too—like spending time with her husband and four kids, taking in a Broadway show, traveling, and entertaining family and friends.
Dan Kaplan, Vice President of Operations
When there's a job to do, Dan Kaplan makes sure it gets done. As Vice President of Operations, Dan is responsible for developing our production capabilities to meet the needs of our ever-growing client base.
Dan has been producing websites and multimedia since 1995. He has consulted and worked for large state universities, small cultural organizations, international non-profits, and Fortune 500 companies, as well as the state and federal government. Most recently, he oversaw the implementations of federal government eLearning systems.
Dan is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and has a B.S. in English and Business from the University of Maryland, as well as an M.A. in English from the University of Maine . He has traveled to over 40 countries and is the father of 3 children.
David Kelley, Vice President
Guiding franchise owners to success comes naturally to Dave Kelley. Until recently, he was a franchise owner himself with AlphaGraphics—a leading graphics design and commercial printing provider.
Dave also has more than 18 years of experience in marketing, business development, and management in the Internet and web development industries. He was an owner and managing partner for Rand Interactive, a leading web and multimedia development firm for clients such as NIKE, Arthur Andersen, Lockheed Martin, and the USDA. Before that, Dave served the dual role of both VP of Marketing and VP of Interactive Services for ClarkNet, one of the first commercial Internet service providers in the country. His leadership positioned both Rand Interactive and ClarkNet for purchase by Change Technology Partners and Verio respectively, both prominent leaders in the technology world.
When he’s not coaching franchise owners, Dave can be found coaching his daughter in basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse, and helping his wife chase after their two younger children.
Casey Boccia, Director of Marketing
Casey Boccia’s plans to write the great American novel were put on hold when she first discovered her passion for marketing and advertising—a passion she now brings to TruePresence.
Most recently, Casey worked for Planit, a prominent brand communications agency, where she concepted and wrote for clients as diverse as CitiFinancial, Dick’s Sporting Goods, GEICO, Kiddie Academy, Signs By Tomorrow, and the National Institutes of Health. Prior to Planit, Casey worked as a writer and editorial assistant for Baltimore Magazine, and as a freelance marketing consultant and writer for the US Department of Energy and the US Small Business Administration. Her work has appeared in US Ad Review’s Best American Advertising and has been bestowed with several Addy Awards.
Casey holds both an undergraduate degree in English and a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola College in Maryland.
